URGENT- COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW

THE NATIONAL TUTORS' CONFERENCE

MAKING TAX DIGITAL-WHY YOU SHOULD PREPARE NOW

WELCOME

The Tutors' Association (TTA) is the only professional membership body for tutoring and the wider supplementary education sector in the UK and is recognised as such by the UK Government. Becoming a member of The Tutors' Association signifies a commitment to the profession, and to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, professional practice and ethical behaviour.

Amongst several new, exciting, value-added member benefits is our online Searchable Directory ‘Find a Tutor’, our Jobs Board which lists tutoring opportunities, and our comprehensive CPD platform which is free to all our members. Check out our many Benefits and Resources here. In addition to this, our Affiliate Partners  offer highly favourable discounts across a wide range of products and services to members.

As well as supporting our members with information, practical tools, networking opportunities and annual events, TTA also actively lobbies Government over issues affecting the sector. We are also an information resource for the public on all things to do with professional tutoring and supplementary education in the UK.

It is our objective to seek to raise the sector’s profile by promoting tutoring as a profession, with particular regard to the importance of Safeguarding and the maintenance of ethical standards.

In the wake of the Covid pandemic, the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) has only served to highlight the crucial role that tutoring has to play as part of the overall educational landscape. We believe that classroom teaching and individual (or small group) tutoring are complementary components of helping children achieve their full educational potential, and we seek to work closely with schools, examining bodies and the DfE to achieve this.

We’d love to welcome you to our thriving community, so click here to apply. If you have any questions, please contact 01628 306108 or email us.  We look forward to having your join TTA's growing community!

(As you might expect, we have a couple of simple but important requirements that members have to abide by as part of our commitment to safeguarding and to the upholding of our professional standards.)

Conditions of membership

All members have to sign up to the Association's Code of Practice as a condition of membership. In addition, as the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is the top priority for TTA, it is also a requirement that all members hold a current, Enhanced DBS certificate that is not more than 12 months old, and that they sign up to the annual Update service. TTA can help members obtain and maintain a DBS certificate if they don’t hold one.

PARENTS, ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A TUTOR?

Our  Searchable Directory 'Find a Tutor' is now live! Find a Tutor or a Tutoring company that’s a member of TTA. You can search using specific criteria that include subject, level, location and whether they offer tutoring online, face to face etc.

We would encourage parents and guardians to use TTA members; all TTA members possess a valid DBS check and have signed up to a rigorous Code of Practice and robust Child Safeguarding protocols.  You can certify if a Tutor or Tutoring Company is a registered member here.

“Thank you for all you’re doing to advocate for the interests of tutors in such an impressive, focused and determined way. This is exactly what The Tutors' Association should be for.”

“We just wanted to pass on our thanks for the work The Tutors' Association (TTA) has been doing over the last few months. It’s fantastic to see TTA getting such traction and really proving its worth to the sector.”
