Members must subscribe to TTA’s Code of Practice. Read more about the Code of Practice here.
Membership to The Tutors’ Association provides parents, schools and stakeholders significant reassurances that they are working with a trusted professional. Members are required to hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate issued within the last 12-months indicating their suitability for working with children and/or vulnerable adults, or subscribe to the DBS Update Service. If a prospective member does not have a valid DBS Certificate upon joining, we can help them obtain one. We strongly recommend that all members subscribe to the DBS Update Service. Instructions for verifying a member’s DBS status are distributed to members upon joining TTA. Read more about our DBS Services here.
Endorsement from two suitable references are required for membership to The Tutors’ Association. References can be from past or current employers, clients or others who know the prospective member in a professional capacity including from within an educational setting. Instructions for verifying a member’s references are distributed to members upon joining TTA. To complete this part of the process, members will be asked to contact two suitable referees and ask them to submit their references using our online form.
As a Not for Profit Membership Organisation, members are required to accept The Tutors’ Association’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, often referred to as The Constitution. Read more about our governance here.
