Board Elections

Nominations for Elections to the Board 2026

Board Vacancies

This election is for two (2) vacancies on the TTA Board of Directors. If two (2) or less nominations are received, statements from the candidates will be published to members and the candidates will be declared elected if unopposed. If any resignations from the board are received before the close of nominations, then the vacancy will be added to this election process.

To nominate a member, or nominate yourself as a candidate, please complete the nomination form by clicking here

Nominees are required to obtain a proposer and seconder from the existing membership. Nominees should not be discouraged from completing the nomination form if they have not yet sought a proposer and seconder for their nomination – we can help! We’re keen to receive nominations from Independent Tutors.

The Deadline

The closing date for nominations is midnight on the evening of 30th March 2026. All nominations must be received by this time.

What’s the commitment?

Membership of the Board is a prestigious appointment and not intended to be onerous, providing opportunities to influence the direction of the tutoring profession and benefits to members of The Tutors’ Association.

It is expected that board members will:

  • Attend and contribute to Board meetings. There are usually ten board meetings a year and most take place online, with at least one face-to-face.

  • Attend one in-person strategy day per year.

  • Attend and contribute to the TTA AGM.

  • Run an online community hub once per year to foster engagement among members.

  • Represent TTA and engage with the wider public to promote TTA’s values and further its goals.

  • Assist and support TTA to achieve its strategic objectives.

To be eligible to stand for election, a member must:
1. Not be disqualified from being appointed as a durector.
2. Be a current paid-up TTA member (of any membership type) and commit to remaining a member for the three-year tenure as a director.
3. Be proposed and seconded by two other members of TTA who are in good standing (who cannot be bundle members of the same organisation).
4. Be willing to commit to the Director’s Declaration which includes provisions on confidentiality, avoiding conflicts of interest and promoting TTA and its membership.
