Entry is free for TTA members as part of their membership benefits. For non-members, there is a £50 admin fee per application. As a non-profit organisation, The Tutors’ Association has introduced this fee to help cover the cost of processing submissions, coordinating judges, and ensuring the awards remain fair, high-quality, and sustainable.

As a non-profit organisation, The Tutors’ Association is committed to keeping the National Tutoring Awards fair, meaningful, and sustainable. The awards have grown significantly each year — receiving hundreds of applications across a growing number of categories. Behind the scenes, this requires a huge amount of time and resources: from building and maintaining the online application system, to coordinating judges, processing submissions, providing applicant support, and ensuring every entry is reviewed fairly and thoroughly.

Introducing this modest admin fee helps us cover these essential costs, allowing us to continue running a high-quality awards programme that properly celebrates excellence in the tuition sector. The fee also supports our goal of preserving the integrity of the awards by deterring speculative or bulk applications, ensuring that entries submitted are serious, considered, and in line with our criteria.

We’ve kept the cost as low as possible to remain accessible, and it reflects only a fraction of the time and care that goes into processing each submission.

If you have any questions or need support, we’re always here to help. Thank you for helping us keep the National Tutoring Awards viable and respected for years to come.

Submissions should be inline with the application criteria.

Each category has unique criteria, so applications need to be tailored specifically. Copying and pasting doesn’t allow you to fully showcase how your achievements align with each award’s focus. This ensures fairness and gives you the best chance to stand out.

Unfortunately, we do not allow additional supporting documents to be submitted. To ensure fairness and streamline the judging process, we kindly ask that all essential information is included directly within your application. Make your responses as clear and concise as possible while addressing the criteria in full.

No, we won’t be sharing examples of winning applications. We encourage you to focus on showcasing your own unique achievements and how they align with the application criteria outlined in this Application Handbook. If you need support, feel free to attend one of our live Q&A sessions.

Yes, you can! If you know an inspiring tutor, tuition business, or tuition partner, you can nominate them for the awards. Just ensure you have their permission before submitting the application on their behalf.

Yes, in 2025, short feedback was provided systemically to every applicant as soon as reasonably possible to release it. Please note that competition within categories is fierce, and not being shortlisted does not automatically reflect negatively on your application.

All applications are reviewed by an independent panel of experts who specialise in the tutoring sector. Judges evaluate entries based on specific criteria and ensure a fair and unbiased process.
