Dear TTA Members,
Last week, five Directors stepped down from the Board of The Tutors’ Association following recent Board discussions about aspects of the Association’s governance and operation. We recognise that members should have heard this directly from us before learning about it on social media, and we apologise for the delay in communicating this.
We are grateful to each of the departing Directors for the time, experience and commitment they have contributed to TTA and the tutoring community, and we wish them well for the future.
We understand that these departures will raise questions among members, and we take those concerns seriously.
TTA has grown considerably in recent years, with an expanding membership and a wider programme of events, partnerships and professional development. Our governance and internal processes must keep pace with that growth.
We had already planned an independent governance review to examine our governance arrangements, board structure and internal processes. We are committed to learning from its findings and will update members on the review’s scope, timetable and next steps.
Our day-to-day work continues as normal. The team remains available to support members, answer enquiries and deliver our programme of professional development and events, including the upcoming National Tutors’ Conference.
If you have questions or need support, please contact the team.
Thank you for your continued support of The Tutors’ Association and the work we do together to strengthen the tutoring profession.
Best wishes,
The Tutors’ Association
