President’s Update – February ’25

Dear Members,

February has been an incredibly busy and exciting month for The Tutors’ Association, with significant developments both in the UK and internationally.

We are currently leading our second trade mission to China, which has been a fantastic success so far. It has been an honour to host Chris Woodward, Director General of the British Consulate-General in Hong Kong, and we were delighted to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Doctors Think Tank, a specialist education company in Hong Kong. This partnership represents a valuable step forward in strengthening international opportunities for TTA members. In addition, we have made a number of promising connections across the region, further expanding our global reach.

Back in the UK, we are continuing to roll out our automated DBS checking software, ensuring that all members—both corporate and individual—can easily comply with TTA’s safeguarding policies. This tool is a key part of our commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards across the tuition sector.

This month, we also hosted a successful Regional Education Networking Event in Cambridge, bringing together members to share insights, build connections, and discuss key issues facing the sector. Looking ahead, we are excited to be hosting further Regional Education Networking Events in London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, and Leeds in March. If you are based in or near these areas, we encourage you to attend—these events are an excellent opportunity to meet fellow tutors and tuition business leaders, exchange ideas, and stay updated on industry developments.

Finally, a reminder that applications for the National Tutoring Awards 2025 are still open, as are applications to speak at the National Tutors’ Conference 2025. Both opportunities remain open until Sunday, 30th March 2025. These events are highlights of the year for the tuition sector, offering outstanding opportunities to showcase excellence, share expertise, and celebrate achievements. Don’t miss out—apply today and book your tickets now!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and engagement. I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events.

Best wishes,

John Nichols
President, The Tutors’ Association
