Dear Members,
As we conclude an exceptionally busy March here at The Tutors’ Association, I’d like to take a moment to highlight some of the exciting activity across the tuition sector, and encourage all members to take advantage of the many opportunities currently available.
We are hearing from an increasing number of members who are nominating themselves or their businesses for the National Tutoring Awards 2025. A reminder that entry is free, but nominations must be received by Sunday, 30th March. It has been especially heartening to hear from members who have found the nomination process to be a meaningful experience in itself—often prompting glowing testimonials from clients that reaffirm the impact of their work.
Alongside the Awards, we are also receiving a strong stream of applications to speak at this year’s National Tutors’ Conference on Wednesday, 29th October. We encourage applications from across the sector, with topics ranging from client engagement, business models, pedagogy and curriculum development to tutor wellbeing, safeguarding and sector innovation. If you have insights or experiences to share, please do consider applying—we are committed to showcasing a diverse and high-quality speaker line-up.
Earlier this month, we concluded our Spring 2025 Trade Mission to China, visiting Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing (following our arrival in Hong Kong). The mission was an excellent success and we are now exploring a range of potential partnerships and commercial opportunities. Some of these may be suitable for wider member involvement, and we look forward to sharing more details in due course.
In line with our growing international activity, registration is now open for our November 2025 Middle East Trade Mission, which will see TTA lead a delegation to the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. These are dynamic and growing markets for British education and tuition, and this mission will offer an outstanding opportunity for members to learn, connect and explore international business development in the region.
Closer to home, March also saw us host highly successful Regional Networking Events in Edinburgh, Newcastle and Leeds. These events continue to be excellent opportunities to meet both current and prospective members, discuss challenges and opportunities in tuition, and offer in-person advice and support. We’re thrilled by the positive feedback and look forward to continuing this momentum with upcoming Regional Events in Oxford (1st May), Canterbury (21st May), and Truro, Bristol and Cardiff in June.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and active involvement in the Association. I hope to see many of you at one of our upcoming events—whether in the UK or further afield.
Best wishes,
John Nichols
President, The Tutors’ Association
