Tribute for the late Chris Sanders

Chris Sanders, one of the founding directors of the Association and its Communications Director for many years, sadly passed away after a short illness on 22nd March.

Chris was an Oxford Graduate in History (Merton College) and became a business coach. Early in his career, he worked for Brent Chemicals International Plc and served on the board of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

In 2012, his good friend Chris Lenton, the Association’s first CEO, persuaded him to help create and grow The Tutors’ Association, which was founded in late 2013. Chris Sanders joined the original board as a lay member in December 2014 and served on it until his retirement in 2022. Chris Sanders worked with Chris Lenton and the officers, especially including the various presidents that have served TTA since then: Tom Maher, Adam Muckle, Tim Morris and John Nichols.

Chris Sanders was an affable individual with erudite wit, sound judgement and high intellect. The Association is very grateful for his friendship and support over the years and extends its most sincere condolences to his family and friends on hearing of his loss.
