Dear Members,
As we move into the heart of the summer term, I’d like to start by offering my very best wishes to all tutors supporting students through their upcoming exams. This can be a demanding time of year for both tutors and learners, and we know how much dedication and professionalism our members bring to guiding students to success. Good luck to you all—your work truly makes a difference.
Looking ahead, we are eagerly anticipating the National Tutoring Awards 2025 on Friday, 4th July. This promises to be an incredible celebration of excellence across the tuition sector, showcasing the remarkable impact made by tutors and tuition businesses throughout the UK and beyond. A heartfelt thank you to our judges and sponsors whose support makes this prestigious event possible. For full details or to secure your ticket, please visit our event page.
TTA is continuing to represent members at UNESCO’s Community of Practice on private supplementary tuition, a key international forum that is working towards producing global guidance for policymakers by the end of 2025. We are proud to ensure that the voices of professional tutors and tuition businesses are heard, and we look forward to hosting the next session ourselves, focusing on the benefits of private supplementary tuition and approaches to effective, proportionate regulation.
Meanwhile, voting is now underway in our annual Board of Directors election. I encourage all members to review the candidates’ manifestos carefully and use your vote to help shape the future leadership of TTA. The full list of nominees and their commitments can be viewed here.
Our Regional Event calendar is in full swing, with upcoming gatherings in Canterbury on 21st May and then Truro, Bristol and Cardiff on the 11th and 12th of June. These events offer a great chance to meet in person, network with peers, and discuss current challenges and opportunities in tuition. Whether you’re a long-time member or considering joining us for the first time, we’d love to see you there.
Lastly, don’t forget our live member Q&A sessions, held every three weeks. These are a great way to ask questions directly to the team and keep informed on what’s happening across the Association. The next session will be on Tuesday, 13th May at 10am. Please do join us if you can.
Thank you, as always, for being part of the TTA community.
Warm regards,
John Nichols
President, The Tutors’ Association
