Overview
The Tutors’ Association (TTA) is the non-profit professional body for the tuition sector in the UK and beyond. TTA is looking for a reliable and organised Events Assistant to support the delivery of our events. Working closely with the Events Manager, this role will assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of events-related activity.
The role is primarily remote; however, in-person support is a key part of the position. The Events Assistant must be able to commute to Canterbury for meetings and preparation, and will be expected to provide in-person support at flagship events in London/Leeds as well as support required for online events. Travel expenses will be covered for travel outside of Canterbury/East Kent, and accommodation will be provided where necessary.
Hours will vary week to week depending on the stage of the events cycle, with busier periods in the lead-up to flagship events, subject to a contractual minimum of 5 hours per week. Hours will be agreed with the Events Manager in advance.
Key responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of our wide range of events. With over 200 events organised annually, from online CPD and Safeguarding to our large 400+ people in-person flagship events such as the National Tutoring Awards and National Tutors’ Conference.
- Assisting with timelines, task tracking, and general event coordination
- Preparing physical event materials (e.g. printing, packing, organising delegate materials)
- Providing in-person support at flagship events, including preparation, set-up, and on-the-day assistance
- Supporting the delivery of online events where required
- Assisting with guest lists, judges, finalists, and general event communications
- Supporting basic email communications using Mailchimp
- Assisting with simple visual assets using Canva (e.g. event graphics, documents)
- Using Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Forms) to support event administration
- Coordinating with suppliers, venues, sponsors, and other stakeholders as needed
- Supporting post-event follow-up and general admin
- Providing ad hoc support to the Events Manager as required
About you

- Proactive, calm, and solutions-focused
- Happy to support with both digital and practical, hands-on tasks
- Comfortable using Canva, Mailchimp, and Google Workspace (basic experience is sufficient)
- Interested in events, education, or the tutoring sector
Previous events experience is helpful but not essential. This role would suit someone keen to build experience in events and work closely with a small, purpose-led organisation.
