TTA Represents UK Tuition Sector at GESS Dubai

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of visiting Dubai with TTA Treasurer Chris Wordsworth to represent our members at GESS Dubai. This global event brought together educators, innovators, and policymakers to explore the future of education and showcase advancements in learning technologies. In addition, we hosted TTA’s first-ever Regional Event in Dubai on the 15th of November, which was a great success. We’d especially like to thank our sponsors and members in the region, especially Heather Harries Education Hub, Augmentiv and Pencil Spaces for their support and collaboration.

During the visit, we engaged with TTA members, international tutoring organisations, and industry leaders, proudly representing the professionalism and expertise of the wider tuition sector. A highlight of the trip was attending a reception hosted by the UK Department for Business and Trade at the British Embassy in Dubai, where we connected with key stakeholders and discussed opportunities for the UK’s education industry in the region.

One of the key takeaways from GESS Dubai was the growing recognition of professional tutoring as a crucial part of education systems worldwide. We highlighted the high standards upheld by TTA and shared insights on how the UK sector is setting benchmarks globally.

This visit also marked an important step in preparing for our trade mission to the Middle East next November. Building on the connections we made at GESS, we’re excited to explore new opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the region, ensuring that TTA members have access to valuable markets and partnerships across the world.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed us in Dubai. It’s inspiring to see the global education community working together to shape the future of learning—and we’re proud to represent and advocate for our members in these important conversations.
